Emily and Josh Married in Boston

Thursday, May 9, 2013

So first off, let me get this out of the way. Emily's dad is a fantastic staff photographer for the Boston Globe so going into the day, despite the fact that I knew them both well before we ever decided to work together, I beyond nervous. You can see some of Bill's awesome work HERE. I don't really get nervous for weddings anymore. Excited, yes, butterflies, yes, but flat out trembly nervousness? That hasn't happened for a while. But in the end, all was well. He couldn't have been nicer or more gracious and seeing the relationship that he and emily have was just amazing. Plus, I figured that if I couldn't stop trembling, I could attribute all my shaky images to 'fine art'.

Josh and I have played in a couple bands together. Most notably The Great Panda Abduction, The Great Panda Resurection, and The Effable. There's probably more, but I've been in so many damn bands, I can't keep them all straight. Anyways, I've known Josh, and through him, Emily, since I had hair. I even remember Josh and myself sitting in my dorm room recording a song for Emily as an anniversary gift, so being here at this next milestone in their lives was truly something incredible to behold. Getting to see a relationship start and then enter new stages and phases is one of life's special treats. I hope you all have that experience someday, whether it be with your friends, children, or loved ones.
