Ellie + Terry :: A Summer Wedding in Baltimore

Friday, January 31, 2014

On a scorching hot summer weekend, I headed out to Baltimore, MD to document the two day celebration of Ellie and Terry. We started off the evening before at Bo Brooks Crab House, documented some preparation at the childhood home of Ellie and then bounced all over town to the Brown Memorial Park Avenue Church, then finished the evening at the Elkridge Country Club. There is something so wonderful about documenting preparation somebody's home - everything in the background becomes context. There's no need to frame out random art on the wall that doesn't serve the story. It's very freeing but also adds shades of depth to images, specifically when creating frames with layers. Towards the end of the evening, Ellie changed into her mom's wedding gown - her mom's reaction is priceless... It was so hot that evening, the dance floor was a special kind of sweaty.

We seek the joy by being together! As cheesy as it sounds, nothing brings either of us any more joy than being together, sharing experiences, and challenging each other. Beyond that, we love bringing people together. We get a lot of joy out knowing that people are closer to each other because of us - as selfish as that sounds! Our friends and family are the most important things in our lives and knowing that people are better friends because of us brings us a great deal of joy. That and everyone having a GREAT time together!!
