Kenley Shea :: Portraits of an Emerging Rock/Country Musician

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

Kenley and I had been looking to hook up for another shoot for what seems like an eternity but our schedules just never quite coincided until recently. I was out in California on a string of commissions and we were able to find 45 minutes to collaborate on a quick shoot to get her some new publicity material to go with a new album and change in tone. They grow up so fast, you know? She's a sort of rock/pop/country up-and-comer and happened to pick the best name in the world for her first album... You're welcome :] Since we had less than an hour to roll we set up camp in one place with one light source and got to work. A small little hotel room with a balcony and some sheer curtains can provide a remarkable amount of possibilities when you have someone like Kenley in front of the lens.

Kenley is a total flower child and hippie at heart and we thought it'd be fun to push a harder edge as much as we could while still keeping the playful dreamer alive and well. This is what we came up with.

You can check out some of her stuff HERE.

Feel free to browse through some of my other publicity photography and marketing headshots for musicians, actors, and business folk if you're so inclined. I'm excited to be shooting at our new Virginia barn studio just outside of DC...
