A week ago I was in the middle of the jungle abutting the ocean down in Mexico. There was no electricity or internet or cell phones... sheer heaven. Truth be told, I don't really love the internet all that much. Well, I take that back. I like the internet in moderation. I cannot deal, however, with always being plugged in, connected, online... drives me nuts and I see it destroying people. People that were my darling friends are now mere shells of what they were. Silly technology... silly future. I actually kind of hope the future will be less connected then things currently are... though to be honest I don't really see that happening. So if you need me, I'll be outside playing.

I was at the Haramara Retreat with CorePower Yoga part shooting part practicing. Above are a couple of images I made while wandering around. For the official images you'll probably just have to check the CorePower website sometime... they are a great company, btw. One of my favorite corporate clients. Always a joy to shoot for them. If they have studios in your area, check them out. No boring chanty yoga - this will leave you drenched and panting :]

While I was out in Denver last month, one of my charges was to shoot some promotional material for the National Theatre Conservatory class of 2011. After some discussion and throwing around all sorts of ideas we decided to go with a simple seamless, freeing their graphic desiner to go crazy and do something awesome. We had fun into the wee wee hours of the morning with some sexy pizza and delightful company... anyways, here's some of the outtakes of them [and me] being goofy and crazy as we get more tired. Good lookin' class, no? They're all destined for big things, have no doubt. You'll be seeing them in April when I'm out in Denver again shooting the final two shows they'll be doing in REP - Ah, Wilderness and As You Like It. Awesome and awesome :] Can't wait to see everyone again!

How funny- I just did a shoot similar to this for a 9 piece band. Eventually, it may make it to the blog. ;-)

You all know... I already told you. I don't blog my headshot shoots regularly... actually, it looks like it's becoming about once a year. That's OK. I'm sure once a year is about all you all can handle anyways ;] So here's a few to look at - no particular order or anything, just from a few recent shoots that are sitting here on the hard drive. Can you spot yours truly in there? There's a couple from a light test I was doing a few weeks ago and didn't have anyone to sit in...

So in 2010 I had 328 headshot sessions - that's a lot of shooting... it's a ton of shutter actuations and a miracle that any of my cameras still function and respond to me. Actors, business folk, musicians, artists... you name it - from students getting ready to graduate from  high school to the executives at Google I had a blast this year getting to learn all about people and where they've come from and where they're going. Capturing the little moments when they come up to the surface and take a quick sip of air...

Feel like seeing more? Need some new ones for yourself? Want someone to create simple and clean imagery that speaks to who you are and not just what you are? Head over to my headshot site and reach out. As always, I'd love to hear from you... even if it's just to say a simple hello :]

I enjoy your Fbook stuff and love your headshots! Caitlin OC and Paul H never looked so good!
Wanted to say HELLO and also that I'd love to do the shots thang with you...but am SO phobic about the camera, blahblahboring...
When are you in NY and what are you up to now? Writing? Adventuring? etc? You sound so peripatetic! Hope you are well and happy and that we'll be able to schedule something when I'm not being neurotic...--xoxoxooxcharlotteb

We celebrate the little moments, we say I love you when the other least expects it, we learn from each other and try to appreciate views through one another's eyes, we stay positive, we look forward to new experiences with traveling, learning, cooking together and remember that spontaneity and passion will keep us young at heart. We think about the world and how hard it can be and how fortunate we are to be where we stand.

Holly and Craig shared a lovely day out in Vermont this past fall. It was an absolute joy to be with them [especially because there was someone there making apple cider donuts]. It was a blustery day, wind whipping through the vines and what was left of the fall colors. The crispness of the late fall sun on your face - not quite apricity yet - is enough to make an entire year of worry just melt away. Friends and family from Long Island made the trek up to celebrate with the beautiful pair and were rewarded with love, joy, and, of course, apple cider donuts.
