Krisan and Todd had the esteemed honor of being my last wedding commission of the season. It was lovely, in Boston, and filled with all sorts of family celebration. So evident on that day were the incredible bonds between her family - they are all just as close as close could be. I love that. Emotions ran high and the couple celebrated in fine style with merriment abounding.

When the celebration was over, I went down to my car and just sat in the parking lot for about an hour trying to catch my breath and reflecting. It was a very long and very difficult year. I wouldn't trade it for the world and was so lucky to find the couples that I ended up working with. Great matches all around, exciting adventures, and many journeys into the unknown.  Can't wait for the 2011 season!

How do you seek the joy?  ....we are working very hard now...putting in the time and sacrificing some of our joys to finish graduate school. we are preparing and are extremely excited for the joys of our future. we are very much looking forward to May when we both graduate and get to spend more time doing the things we love. Mainly just being together and with our friends and family.

Jess, Mike and I are like minded people. Jess is out in Cincinnati getting a degree in Opera. Mike is in Boston at New England Conservatory getting is M.M. Theatre people, music people, good people, my people. We spent an evening walking around the North End chatting though all sorts of things, enjoying what was left of the holiday season right before the year changed. There wedding is down in CT this summer and I really can't wait to spend some more time with them. they have a quiet mystique about them that just begs for attention to be paid. Attention must be paid.

It was all about trains - even in the middle of the ceremony we felt the gentle purr of the commuter rail absentmindedly cradle us. Meredith and Dave first met on that train, many moons ago... and every morning sat on that train together, noticing each other until the silence was broken. I think it took a year or two :] There is an image in the series above that takes resonates with me very deeply - Meredith's father has just given her away... the feelings coursing through him at that point are all there, on his face, to unconsciously reaching for the hand she was just holding. Marvelous stuff and what a meeting of utter joy and sadness.

Meredith and Dave are such wonderful people - here's what they answered when I asked how they seek the joy: When we think of the best parts of our relationship and how we seek the joy in our moments together, we are drawn back to how we met and quiet shared moments. When we met on the train there were so many amazing, calm and intimate moments of just talking, listening and learning about each other. Some of our favorite and joyful moments continue to be quiet ones - dinners at home, walks around Salem, road trips to Maine, and summer days on the beach. We both have more individualized answers to this question but given that we are on the cusp of marriage, we thought we'd tell you a little bit about the types of shared moments that bring joy into our lives. At the end of the day, we love each other and spending time together brings joy to our lives - no need to glitz it up any more than that!

Exactly. I hope you can all find something as wonderful as this in your lives.

I'm not sure I've ever been outside in so much rain in my life. Definitely the rainiest wedding day I've ever shot... and also one of the most enjoyable. It makes all the difference in the world when you are surrounded by good people. While the grounds at Kenwood in Sonoma Valley may have been saturated with liquid sunshine, there was certainly no dampening of spirits. Plus, to make an amazing day even more amazinger, I got to hang out with my wonderful friends Jenn and Robert, with whom I always treasure my time.

California has a pace all to it's own - a pace that becomes even more relaxed when the rain starts to fall. To be honest, I'm really not even sure Erin or Tim noticed it was even wet out - just grinning all along their merry way. I'm soooooo glad I get the cool couples :] Just happy as clams and seeing past the surface into the deep heart of the day - a heart that beat true with friends, laughter and celebration.

I hope you enjoy a few simple frames from their beautiful day.
