Welcome to the :e: picture journal. Within these walls you'll find a mix of commissioned and personal work so feel free to subscribe or to just swing by whenever you're seeking... [hint: click on a big image and then use the L and R arrows on your keyboard to navigate through the rest]

A couple of weeks ago after finishing a day of headshots for a lovely group of stylists, Lisa Bello swung by. It was nice to just go play around for an hour after the sun had set... Christina Elfar was on hand to handle hair and makeup while Blond Di lent some her of clothing awesomeness. I showed up and pushed the button. Lisa's got a sick voice so if you're ever in the neighborhood to hear this lady's pipes, jump at the opportunity. You will be seriously glad you did.

Presenting to you the next generation of storytellers for your general entertainment, education, and enlightenment. They're pretty adorable, huh? While I was out in Denver shooting the National Theatre Conservatory, CorePower Yoga, the Denver Center Theatre Company, and a bunch of headshots, I snuck in for a day to the Denver Center Theatre Academy and spent some time marveling at the birth of the new storytelling generation. It's really something... so free of inhibition, always saying "yes, and," and so OK with just sitting there, smiling, and picking their collective noses.

'Cause after all, what's life without a few good nose picks every now and again :] It's a lot less flavorful. That's what I say.

Matt and Enna Grazier are wonderful folks and I was thrilled when they asked me to shoot their family imagery for the year... especially because I got to spend some serious QT with Will and Ollie - two seriously awesome dudes.

In addition to being wonderful people, Matt and Enna are fantastic photographers. Go check out their site... worth spending some time there and browsing around. Weddings are slowing down for the year but it's about the time to get some pictures made for all your holiday greetings and things like that. They take some beautiful portraits... check it.

We spent an afternoon hanging around Cider Hill which is one of my favorite places on the planet. Plus, it's about a mile from the studio. Every year they are voted in the top 5 nationally for their cider - I've been all over the states tasting cider and to be honest I've never tasted anything so complexly layered and textured like their craft. It is absolutely sublime. Heat it up and mull it and fahgedaboudit.

I love saying hi to the sun when she peaks her eye over the ocean. I feel a little spoiled because I live right on the East Coast so I get to do it almost every day. Awesomesauce.

Yesterday at 4:30am I rolled into Newburyport to get ready for shooting at the sunrise out on Plum Island. Capturing imagery at that time of day is my absolute favorite. Sunset is fun, but as the sun sets it keeps getting darker. At sunrise, you start out with beautiful light and it just keeps growing and growing until it overtakes you. It's the start of something brand new and fresh and full of exciting adventures. Who knows what will happen?!  Sadly, it can sometimes be a struggle to convince folks to schedule their sessions that early but for the select few that do, they are heavily rewarded.

Maura just moved up to Portland, ME and is teaching at a couple of studios there while she gets her brand new online presence all set up. You can check out her temporary blog HERE - she shares some great insights. All you yogis in the area, drop her a line - she's specializing in private and individual sessions... imagine tailoring your practice specifically to you.

I am not here to tell you what to think or what to feel. I am not here to tell you what is good or what is bad. I am here to say, 'Look. This is beautiful.'
